  Heart warming words from my 13 year old granddaughter during our Thanksgiving dinner

  we had our first family thanksgiving gathering this last thursday with our youngest sons family.

  before we started to eat we went around the table saying what we were thankful for.

  what our granddaughter had to say brought tears to our eyes.

  Plans For December

  plans for december:.

  a few friends and i have planned a full month of kindness , giving and sharing experiences for us to help those who may need it.. the first weekend of dec we are all going to be taking some elderly ones who are on their own, cant get out and about for christmas shopping.they are alone (except friends, no family who cares to be there for them at all) , so we thought we can take them shopping for gifts and stuff, it will help them get out too for a day or two.. second weekend will be spent with wrapping gifts ,writing cards, letters for these elderly ones and taking them out for an event which they chose to go to.

  third weekend we and these elderly ones are all sharing in making different dishes ,soups,muffins, cakes etc and taking them round to the homeless shelters and giving it out to people there (volunteering there afterwards too ,they need all the help they can).. fourth weekend us friends are going with gifts to three different shelters for the homeless and donating it there plus volunteering in a soup kitchen.. fifth weekend us friends have arranged for all these elderly ones to a weekend of chilling , fun activities for them ,food n drinks n all.. just doing this so those who havent got anybody can also feel the warmth, kindness people have and so that thye do not feel left out and depressed.. so looking for ward to a busy and happy giving december for my friends and me.. can you think of anything else that can be added to these above mentioned activities?.

  What was the retirement plans you heard brothers talk about if any

  i know some would not think about retirement.

  i had one brother who would pioneer as he could afford and when he paid off his home he was about to collect social security.

  he made enough that his plan was to work two to three days a week and pioneer the rest of the week.

  ewart chitty was appointed as secretary-treasurer , which position he held until his appointment to the governing body in november 1974.. when in brooklyn, chitty seems to have preferred younger men as roommates.

  the actual charge brought to the gb against chitty was made by a former roommate and involved some sort of inappropriate conduct.

  the gb concluded that chitty had homosexual tendencies, and asked him to resign.. a rare photo of chitty in happier days.

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

  i attended my grandfathers jw funeral the other day.

  firstly i am a rabid apostate, and certainly not wt greatest fan.

  that been said however, i will certainly stick up for them when they do the right thing.

  PIMO Elder with a Dilemma

  i haven’t been on here in awhile and this is my second user name because i was busted by my pimi wife on the first one.

  i have been basically awake since 2013. i have a super dub wife that i love and don’t want to lose and my sick mom in the hall that is a true believer.

  stupid religion has gotten between my wife and i (of course).

  Another Ex-Elder here. Was the COBE, Convention, CA speaker, Convention Program Overseer, Regular Pioneer, etc.

  I know its hard, being an Elder is like taking a constant drug. You’re told “you are a glorious one, you’re in Jesus right hand, you’re being directed by Holy Spirit, the Governing Body loves and supports you, etc...”

  I gave my wife piecemeal “truths” at a time. Keep it simple.

  They lied to us and no one wants to take responsibility. “Millions now living will never die”, was said in 1919, they’re all dead now. The “Generation “ teaching has changed 5 times, but no apology for us making life decisions based on the current teaching. I gave talks in the 1980’s and 90’s, quoting the Watchtower that these Last Days will be over within this 20th Century. Now, we are in our 60’s, broke, no retirement, wasted our youth, vital energies on a lie, that we would “ never grow old, never die, not need to plan for retirement!”

  We are sad, anger and bitter!

  Step down now and try to salvage whatever life you have left before you die! You can not refute the facts! Everything thing else is speculation, hopes and dreams.

  Here in the States, they have a clause called “Ecclesiastical Privilege”, that most states have, which is the same as “Attorney Client Personal”. In other words, they (religious ministers) don’t have to report a crime.
